Australi are occasionally sculpted by Cambrians in the presence of a Solar Archon. They lack some of the raw radiative potential of their siblings, but specialize in painting swathes of sky with small nodes of light. A group of Australi is called an arm or a cluster.

Variants

Auroras - Australi

Physical Description

Australi are, unlike other solar puppets, a bit larger than their unaltered siblings, standing at around 23' 6" (716cm) with relatively light builds for puppets of their size. They lack the verdant features of their siblings, and their wings are substantially different, replacing their semi-verdant wings with much larger, two-tone feathered ones, each wing crowned with long crests of scintillating solar light that the Australi cast their magic from.

Behaviour

Australi act similarly to their siblings, with a penchant for lighting up dark skies. However, they do this differently from their siblings, seemingly aiming to disperse as much light as possible. They fly lower to the ground and traverse the skies much faster, painting long swathes of red and gold globes of solar energy that radiate gentle light down towards the ground. These small globes of energy generally linger in place, though they can be repositioned by the Australis if they are needed elsewhere. Of particular note in regards to these micro-stellar bodies is the fact that verdant puppets such as Fronds and Coddlers can eat these stars directly, digesting and absorbing their energy over time.

Australi can use their magic to attack, slinging small stars at targets to release all their energy in tiny bursts of light energy, but they tend to prefer evading combat with their superior flight and speed, only fighting if absolutely necessary (for example, to protect other puppets).

Australi display a strong sense of restlessness, constantly fluttering around even when their magic is not needed. Even when depleted and resting near a Cambrian to recover their strength, Australi constantly flit around between branches, seemingly having difficulty sitting still.

Genetic Description

Australi and Auroras share a striking amount of similarities given their vast differences in appearance and function, their solar magic seemingly only being added to whatever is instilled by the Solar Archon they're modelled for. Notably, the "donor" archon has no physical input on the Australis directly, with the Cambrian instead mimicking the higher energy state of other solar puppets.

Metanarrative

Australi felt like a natural fit for the solar archon, being sun puppet plus sun puppet to get more sun puppet. They occupy a similar niche to their siblings, though their strengths are more in lighting up large areas kind of well rather than lighting up one area extremely well. And, of course, the visuals are a fun part of their design, too.
