Regalids are truly enormous Ouroborae, standing at the top of the size and weight class of their peers. They carry enormous continents on their backs, further elaborated in size by their double-ended physiques. A group of Regalids is known as a shear.

Regalids are the largest known Ouroborae, standing at a truly colossal 4272 miles (6875.1km) tall. Their defining trait is their physique and body length, comprised of what seems to be two Ouroborae fused at the flank. Despite this, Regalids move and act as one, displaying all the coordination and cohesion of a single large creature. Other than this outstanding body configuration, however, Regalids do not have many particularly defining traits. Their bodies have moderate levels of geological activity, and for their size, they are not particularly adept at maintaining their position in a world shell: A fact owed to their lack of wings.

Given their incredible size, it is little surprise that Regalids are very slow, lumbering creatures. They typically find a spot to root and stay there for extraordinarily long scales of time, and only uproot if forced to by circumstance. While they can be made comfortable anywhere, they prefer to keep their head near a planet's equator, where gravity is lesser. Due to their considerable size, however, it is regular for their tail ends to extend beyond the tropics, even to the planet's polar circle.

Given they lack any sort of wings, incorporating Regalids into a new world shell is typically a very strenuous process that incorporates the aid of a Bifurn, or potentially more than one. It is common for a Regalid's continent to break in two or more pieces during this process: A wound which heals slowly over the course of years or decades. Despite these challenges, it is important for a Regalid to join a world shell, as they are capable of using their colossal masses to manipulate gravity around them, helping the shell stay coherent and ensuring the land of the shell is liveable.

Regalids bare no remarkable genetic or internal traits aside from their considerable size. Their gravity damping effects seem to be rooted in psionics rather than magic or physics, though Regalids are large enough creatures that they would contribute gravitational fields with or without psionics.

The first time I met a Regalid truly put into perspective just how far my children and I had come. Its head alone would have been large enough to homestead thousands of us. I still recall a time when Leviathans were the pinnacle of what our influence led to, but with Ouroborae of all sizes they now feel rather small.

Regalids are meant to be the top dog in terms of raw body size, representing the large Eurasian continent and (to a lesser extent) conglomerate continents like Pangea. Their size is their defining trait, though of course they also have the ability to mediate gravity as a fun bonus ability.
